Let it Rain

When you finally realize the love you felt for someone is gone...its like a cloud has gone away. it's left from being directly overhead. but now, you can't go back. that in its self is a cloud. you just gotta remember there is a sun waiting for you that will come with morning. for now, you're caught in a refreshing rain that will replenish your soul. a rain that will allow you to find the positives. a rain that will allow you to find the happiness in your soul. so you, yes you, can love again when the sun comes out. :)

The Dog Days Are Over!

It all started this last November...my pursuit of happiness that is. Before November I had been living with several shadows over my head, a very bad ongoing break up with a boyfriend, the stress of junior year of high school, issues with friends, constant arguments with parents. I just wasn't a happy camper. I didn't think I was ever going to be a happy camper. I thought " this is how my life is, there is no changing it, this is as happy as happy gets." It breaks my heart thinking back now that i believed that was as happy as i could get. I cried myself to sleep most nights, I listened to depressing music, I stayed home almost always, i didn't talk to many people. I just cried and was always sad. Towards the end of the month I got together with my friends who I met the previous July at Presbyterian Youth Triennium. Sure, we had seen each other 3 or 4 times since then so i was looking forward to it. But i didn't think anything of it really. The day came for our thanksgiving party and we all got together. We spent the whole day together. Cooking pizza, dancing like fools, having a laugh over being allergic to tomatoes and sharing music we love with each other. My friend James played the song "The Dog Days are Over" by Florence & the Machines. It was this song that made me get happy, it cheered me up. I was in the presence of incredible people and i could finally hear what else was out there for me. Here are the lyrics and a link to the song!

Happiness hit her like a train on a track

Coming towards her stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with her drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come

And I never wanted anything from you
Except everything you had and what was left after that too, oh
Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back
Struck from a great height by someone who should know better than that

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run
